We all think of the 4th of July as being a time for picnics, parades and fireworks, but we should stop and remember the true reason we observe the holiday – our country’s independence. And although there’s nothing wrong with a three-day weekend and the chance to barbecue with family and friends, it’s nice to take time to celebrate our freedom and honor America’s 233rd birthday… and thank a Veteran, while we’re at it!
At River Expeditions we fly the American flag proudly at the entrance of the headquarters, along with the West Virginia state flag and our own company flag. This is a sign of honor and respect of our liberty. By living, working, playing, traveling, exploring, learning of history, culture and nature we embody the spirit that freedom represents.
As we celebrate Independence Day while rafting on the New River, then later for the 17th annual Volleyball Championship, all of us at River Expeditions are thankful for the freedom America affords us to celebrate the holiday any way we wish. We take ‘the pursuit of happiness’ very seriously!
