     Title: Anticipation
We are fast approaching an exciting time of year here at River Expeditions. It will soon be time for our experienced guides to get the new trainees out on the chilly water, time to start packing our empty shelves of the outfitters store with clothes, souvenirs and river gear. Our empty campground will be filled with our hard working staff setting up tents on the platforms, polishing the Red Dog River Saloon, cleaning out cabins and manicuring the campsites, all in preparation to welcome old friends and new faces.

As much as we look forward to rafting season, for now, we have to slow down and enjoy what’s left of the winter. When we aren’t in the office with our busy ringing phones we need to enjoy the quiet, beautiful West Virginia mountains. It’s a time to take long walks through the woods looking for rabbit, deer and other animal tracks in the crisp white snow and looking for the birds we hear rustling in the brush. Instead of swimming or hiking in the evenings maybe we’ll have dinner with friends, see a play or gather around the fireplace or woodstove and talk about fun times on the river. So until spring arrives and the new river starts to swell to an exciting level we’ll be anxiously awaiting your arrival and hoping you’re enjoying your winter as much we’re enjoying ours.
