River Rafting Blog

Down to Earth

Join us for a day of rafting in the great outdoors and celebrate Earth Day 2009. Now more than ever, our impact on the planet is growing more noticeable. Like you, River Expeditions is concerned about the environment and its sustainability. Spend the day on the river and get a glorious glimpse of the New River Gorge renewing itself, as trees are budding and West Virginia wildflowers are sprouting.
So on Wednesday, April 22nd, in observance of Earth Day, we will allocate $10 from each rafter to our ‘Green Up the Grounds’ fund. This dedicated fund goes toward sprucing up our basecamp by planting flowers, shrubs, trees and even for grass seed to fill in areas left bare by guests who don’t always park their vehicles in designated areas (… you know who you are). Bonus Earth Day Offers: Complimentary Paddle Jacket Rental with the Purchase of a Wetsuit ‘Green’ Drink Specials in the Red Dog River Saloon

28th Annual Ice Breaker Weekend

April 10, 2010 - April 11, 2010

Whitewater Season Opener

I really can’t say enough about the trip. All of us had a great time and were very impressed with the campground, facilities, the attitudes and helpfulness of employees, the delicious lunch and dinner, and of course the AWESOME trip on the Lower New River. It is truly a feat when you can please 23 people at the same time, and you guys did it! We will be back next fall to do the Gauley. Thanks again and keep up the GREAT work!!!
