Spring Training
Each year, like clock-work, River Expeditions trains prospective river guides. Many former guests decide to exit the ‘real world’ in the hopes of becoming a whitewater guide for a fun summer job. Often it leads to a complete lifestyle change. Since whitewater is an addictive sport, what begins as a one-time trip with friends or family can easily turn into a lifelong passion and career.
For lots of people who truly love their initial rafting experiences, the lure is strong to accept the challenge and become a guide. Our intensive training program, involves learning to read whitewater, proper guiding techniques, and first aid and cpr training. As a guide, you belong to a team of professionals who share their knowledge and passion for adventure with others. Plus, you can’t beat the view from a river guide’s office!

September 4, 2010 - September 6, 2010Take a Well Deserved Rafting Break
We just came back from a weekend trip to WV to run the Lower Gauley, and it was absolutely worth the 18 hours we drove round trip. Our guide (Matt) was so competent and knew the river so well that each time we encountered a potential hairy situation (Pure Screaming Hell anyone???) he breezed us right through it. We intend on coming back every year, and River Expeditions will be our outfitter of choice when we do. We didn′t want to come home, and we can′t WAIT to come back next Spring! Outstanding job. (Especially to Matt.) :)Jeff and Jaime Welch
