Southern West Virginia boasts some of the best courses in the state; all within a short distance from River Expeditions.

Choose to play 18-hole championship courses designed by George Cobb at Twin Falls or Jack Nicklaus at The Greenbrier. If you’re not that serious, you can stay close and play Bridge Haven or White Oak, right here in Fayette County.

AREA GOLF COURSES:

The Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs
The Old White TPC Course, home to The Greenbrier Classic PGA TOUR event is the only C. B. Macdonald course available to the public. It is also the oldest course currently used for a PGA TOUR event and has stood the test of time.  In addition to The Greenbrier Course (Jack Nicklaus), The Old White TPC and The Meadows Course (Dick Wilson and Bob Cupp), The Golf Club also features locker rooms and an award-winning pro shop.

Bridge Haven, Fayetteville
Bridge Haven Golf Club is the only Public Golf Course in Fayette Co and the perfect one-day golf getaway. Bridge Have boasts some of the best greens in the state. The Bent grass greens are the pride and joy of the course, making the putting experience at Bridge Have an exciting one.

Grandview Country Club, Beaver
Grandview Country Club is an 18-hole golf course with rolling fairways and excellent greens. A well-groomed public course, Grandview Country Club is 6,758 yards in length and has an average green size of 6,000 sq.ft. The beautiful mountaintop setting of the course combines golfing and a panoramic view of southern West Virginia.

Nicholas Memorial Golf Course, Summersville
The 9-hole “Nicholas Memorial” course at the Nicholas Memorial Golf Course facility in Summersville, West Virginia features 2,983 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 35. This short layout will reward good shots and provide a fun golf outing for everyone.

Stonewall Resort, Roanoke (WV)
Located inside Stonewall Resort State Park the award-winning Arnold Palmer Signature golf course strikes the perfect balance between difficulty and playability, science and nature. This course was named 89th among America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses by Golf Digest.

Pipestem Resort, Pipestem
Pipestem Resort State Park features two challenging, beautifully manicured courses. The 18-hole, par 72 championship course, designed by Geoffrey Cornish, features views of the Bluestone Canyon. The Short Course at Pipestem is a challenging 9-hole par 3 course. Both courses are complete with rental carts, pro shops, and driving ranges.

Twin Falls Resort, Mullens
Twin Falls features an 18-hole par 71 championship course. The original 9-holes were designed by Geoffrey Cornish and a 9-hole addition designed by George Cobb, Sr. completed a challenging 18-hole golf property. A pro shop with club and cart rentals, sales and assistance is on site. A resident PGA Golf Pro is available for lessons.
